Within these pages explore the genealogy of the AGCO Corporation, more specifically the tractor product lines that, in some mostly indirect manner, contributed to the current extensive line of tractors under the AGCO banner.
Only a very few farm equip ment firms can claim a direct lineage from founder to the present, especially if the firm is more than a few (human) generations old. The history of the AGCO Corporation's antecedents is strewn with mergers, acquisitions, and bankruptcies which provide an interesting and intricate trail to follow.
Such grand old names as Advance-Rumely, Allis-Chalmers, Deutz- Fahr, and Deutz-Allis; Hart-Parr, Oliver, Minneapolis-Moline, Avery, and Cockshutt; Wallis, Case Plow, Massey- Harris, and Ferguson all made their contribution to AGCO Allis, White, and Massey Ferguson, now a part of AGCO. They are The Proud Heritage of AGCO Tractors.
