Seventy Years of Farm Machinery (Book) AUD $50.00

Covering the period 1930-2000, Brian Bell deals with the mechanisation of farm machinery in the second agrarian revolution.
He starts with the farm tractor, charting the main changes from the Fordson model F to the JCB Fastrac.
He covers ploughs in detail, then considers cultivators, harrows and weeders, culminating in the tillage train.

Under the broad heading of Seed Time, Brian Bell describes the companies and products significant in: grain, cultivator and direct drills; root drills and precision seeders; potato and vegetable planters.

The final section of the book looks at crop care: manure and slurry spreaders; manure loaders; fertiliser distributors and spinners; sprayers and weed wipers.

For this enlarged edition (of Fifty Years of Farm Machinery) the author has fully revised all the sections, increased the length of the text and added many new photographs.

Brian Bell has written over 25 books and DVDs on farm machinery and agricultural companies, and contributes to a number of magazines. He has been awarded the MBE for his services to agriculture.
