ABOUT THE AUTHORS
HERBERT P. KEAN
A long-time collector of antique tools, Mr. Kean has also been a tool dealer, auctioneer, and restora-tionist. Originally educated in forestry, he spent a number of years as a professional forester. Mr. Kean was one of the founders of CRAFTS, the New Jersey tool society, and served as a director for the past 10 years. He is the author of A Price Guide to Antique Tools and Restoring Antique Tools.
EMIL S. POLLAK
An enthusiastic antique tool collector, Mr. Pollak, along with his wife, was the author of A Guide To American Wooden Planes and Their Makers. He was the editor of Plane Talk, the quarterly journal covering the field of planes, as well as The Fascinating World of Early Tools & Trades. Mr. Pollak was a director of the Early American Industries Association and also CRAFTS.
